The place is a SCAM. Extremely unprofessional, dishonest, and untrustworthy clinic! Avoid at all costs. We had a terrible experience with this clinic regarding a referral for multiple extractions as they can do only 1 extraction/visit in their office (liberty dental plan). In October, they created a treatment plan to extract 11 teeth but failed to provide a valid referral to an in-network provider. When I confronted them, they falsely claimed they had already sent the referral to the insurance (Liberty Dental). However, the insurance company confirmed they received absolutely nothing. When I asked the clinic for a physical copy of that referral, they claimed they "deleted it because it expired"—completely violating medical record retention laws. During our visit, while on a three-way call with a Liberty Dental agent, the clinic staff explicitly promised to submit an emergency referral right then and there. They even confirmed to our faces that it was sent. Four hours later, the insurance agent said nothing arrived. When the agent called the clinic directly to check, the staff changed their story entirely and admitted they NEVER sent it, using the excuse that "no exam was performed today." This clinic is caught in a web of lies. They lie to patients, they lie to insurance company, and they manipulate administrative processes to avoid helping patients. Unprofessional, unethical, and zero accountability. Do not trust them with your health or your insurance!
I must admit. I was previously responsible for giving a 1star review. That 1 day in the past several years was enough to make me reconsider. However, Dr.Espinoza is amazing, and I’m not going to allow poor front desk service to stop me from being seen by the star of the show. I wish I could pack Dr.Espinoza up and fly her with me wherever I go. Today the process of being seen in this location was as smooth as it usually is. My experience is usually a 10 out of 10. I highly recommend. They even have an in house pharmacy.
Dr. Rico and the medical staff in the back are absolutely spectacular. She has an incredible bedside manner, prioritizes the children’s health, wellbeing, comfort, and safety above all else. I was assisting a family member who needed help with Haitian Creole translation, and I witnessed firsthand the quality of her care. By the end of that week, I made the decision to transfer my own children from their previous primary care office to Dr. Rico. Wherever she goes, my kids will follow. As a nurse, I can confidently say that the way families trust her speaks volumes. Parents I meet consistently say the same thing: at Family Health Centers, it’s Dr. Rico and only Dr. Rico. I know families who even drive from Lehigh just to keep her as their pediatrician. That type of loyalty is rare and says everything about the kind of physician she is. Unfortunately, the front office staff does not match the excellence of the providers in the back. Every visit begins with an impatient, lackluster greeting that makes you feel like you’re inconveniencing them. It’s disheartening to see such a gem of a healthcare provider overshadowed by a poor first impression. I often have to remind myself that once we get to the back, the care makes up for it. Honestly, if Dr. Rico were ever to leave, I believe the pediatric office would sink to the same mediocrity as its front desk. I noticed the center advertising job openings, and while there were no nursing opportunities listed, I did see the posted pay ranges. Perhaps the front staff’s attitude reflects being underpaid. But still poor pay should not excuse poor service, especially in healthcare where families deserve compassion and respect from the moment they walk in.
Dr. Rico is the best. I drive from Cape Coral to keep her. But the front end staff is horrendous. They do not do their job. Tried to turn me away today for and ER follow up. Because I need to randomly bring a birth certificate. Both my kids have been patients here for their whole lives. And they tired to say they called but they did not, no missed calls or voicemails. They are unhelpful and rude. The are also awful at scheduling, today’s appointment was at 10:00 its over and hour and a half and only just went to triage and back out to waiting room. Front end staff and only front end staff is why i am finally changing offices.
I love the doctors at the medical offices. Dr. Espinosa for adult and Dr Rico for pediatrics are both amazing, been seeing them for a long while now. However, the dental office is the worst....always have to wait an hour at least, will only do 1 filling at a time. The exam and cleaning are also done in 2 different appointments. Unfortunately I took my daughter there for 9 fillings and then at her 6 month exam she supposedly had 11 more!!! I took her to another dentist that I trust since her insurance changed and we were able to go back there again. He said that she only needs 3 small fillings. Same thing for my other 2 daughters. They are just trying to get money from the insurance. I will never go back there again.
