Came here on a whim since it was close to my mom’s and it’s honestly now my son’s favorite spot! Tables are a little tightly packed together, but if you can get over that experience, the food itself is phenomenal. You have the option of sharing a family size pot for broth or you can opt for individual soup pots, if everyone wants a different flavor. It is also all you can eat; with a 90 minute time limit, but with how fast everything comes out, it’ll be plenty of time for you. The also allow BYOB where I saw plenty of guests bringing in their own beers an even spirits for consumption. The service was fast, and they came promptly to take our drink, broth, and meat orders and then we had to get up to the fridge to grab other items, such as seafoods, tofus, a variety of dumplings. The other fridge offered plentiful veggies and noodles, and another section was where you can make your custom sauces for dipping. They constantly stocked everything up and everything was always fresh and readily available. My son loved the original broth, which also had goji berries, dates, and green onions for enhanced flavor, and I tried the seafood the first time we went, and the coconut chicken the second time. The seafood was subtle, but offered clams the bottom for a tasty bonus. The original was one you could go wrong with, just the classic hotpot broth that’s hard to mess up. The coconut chicken was a little too rich to me, but it was very flavorful and enhanced any meat or veggie I wanted cooked in it. Gratuity is included already, but of course, it is optional if you would like to leave more. You also pay at the counter too. All in all, very good, one of my son’s new favorite restaurants in Hawaii and will be back when we return!
We came around 2:15 p.m. and were greeted right away. The place was quiet, which made it a relaxing visit. You pick a soup base (I had miso, my friend had chicken & mushroom), then order meats like ribeye, lamb, pork belly, or shabu shabu, and cook them in the hot pot. Signs on the table show the recommended cook times--super helpful! There's also a veggie bar (mushrooms, spinach, corn, etc.), a fridge with seafood and dumplings, plus a sauce station where you can mix your own dips. Everything was fresh and fun to try. The meat quality was solid, service was quick, and drinks are only $1 with free refills. Ambiance is cool too with unique décor. Big thanks to Royal and our server for making it such a smooth, enjoyable experience. We loved it!
BE CAREFUL PAYING CASH! They will try to SCAM YOU!!!!! I paid in cash, and the cashier did not give me my full change. I kept explaining that I was short 11 dollars. We both used a calculator, and the lady did not understand that I did not get my full change. I would not mind, but there is already a tip included when all they are doing is bring you your hot pot. You get up and serve yourself on the add-ons.
Great place to take the family. They have a lot of options seafood, steak, noddles, and vegetables to choose from. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I know there are other locations, but this is one of my favorite locations. Especially now that they offer crab legs. Great service. They always greet you right away. Place is always clean.
