Havent been here in years, so when my friend and I was in the area decided to go since Ive seen good things hyped about Kunis. Recently renovated, we went right at opening and didnt have reservations, but luckily we could be seated if only an hour. Ordered beers and the food right away.... Prices for the 3 choice combo is quite expensive these days... $41? They were also out of several items too (the Fried Akule). My friend ended up getting the 2 choice($31) and I got the Kuni Special Udon. Food came out quickly, the combo order came out all separately on small dishes. For the price and portions, id pass on coming back as we left still hungry but paid almost $80....but surprisingly this restaurant was packed when we left. I must be missing something here.... 🤔🤔🤔 3 stars, live and learn.
Service was great. No wait time and it was not crowded. A great place to go and just have an early dinner or late lunch with a group. The only thing that threw me off was the sauce on the butterfish was salty that day. Definitely ask if you can opt out on the sauce or sauce on the side because the fish is ono. That way you can decide if you want to add sauce or not.
Went to Kuni's on Saturday to celebrate my birthday and also to take advantage of my special discount during lunchtime. I explained to the server about the discount in which he said he would have to ask the manager to look at my I.D.to check the date of my birth date. Service was okay. Had to ask for water. Then one of the combos we ordered had sashimi....had to ask for that. When we received the bill a 10% senior discount was given. Asked about the birthday discount. One of the servers told me I can't have both. I told the server that I understood that but I came foe my birthday discount. Was told that he would have to separate the bill. BTW I also made reservation and stated we has a birthday. The meal was very good.
Very Fast ! In n out! Food was Delicious! 🤤 can’t wait to go back! The Sashimi was ono! Everyone gets steak!
Can't believe I'm only now trying out Kuni! Their menu has teishoku items, udon, saimin, tendon/katsu don, chicken katsu, tonkatsu, fried butterfish/grilled butterfish, shrimp tempura and vegetable tempura. They have icecream (ube and green tea) for dessert and lots of Japanese beers/sake for special occasions. The owner is hilarious.
