This Lidl location on Wade Hampton is a good place to shop, especially if you want a grocery store that does not feel cramped. The store is spacious and easy to move through, which I appreciate. It does not have that packed-in feeling you sometimes get at Walmart or Ingles. The selection is a little different from a traditional grocery store. There are not as many brand choices, so if you are looking for one specific national brand, you may not always find it. But for everyday shopping, the store is well laid out, pleasant, and generally a good experience. Overall, a solid grocery option with good prices, a spacious layout, and a much less stressful feel than some larger grocery stores.
After going here for years, I won't return after today. They simply don't have enough employees and the ones they do have clearly hate their jobs and have horrible attitudes. At self checkout, I waited quite a long time for help. I know there were employees in the store. I have eyes to see that there were employees who could've come to help when I pressed the button. There was only one cashier open at the regular checkouts which is why I even opted to use the self check. I waited a very long time for someone to come so when no one came, I waited some more for the one cashier to be finished checking out her customers. I leaned over and asked that particular cashier if there was anyone in the store who could come help. I wasn't asking for HER in particular.... I just knew there were in fact, more employees in the store and I expected her to use her lil cashier intercom to call someone up. Instead, she stomped over to where I was and copped an attitude instantly about how much I was buying. She blamed my son for "leaning on the register" but I was watching him and he actually leaned on the candy next to it, not the machine itself. When I informed her he wasn't even leaning on the register she argued very rudely. She told me that I have to go ahead and do a half pay and start over. I didn't want to deal with her rude attitude anymore so I went for that option. Well, the machine stopped working again the very first item I tried to scan.when the cashier heard me get mad at this, she did offer to just scan my items. This was probably the only reasonable thing she offered to do. However, she took another customer before me after offering to scan mine..... Like???? The bottom line isn't even really the cashier. I would hate my job if I was the only one doing any work too. I might cop an attitude with everyone having a bad day/bad time too if no one else was working with me. Y'all need more employees so that your employees can be happier and your customers can get the help they need in a timely manner. I'll keep overspending at Sprouts from now on just to have a nicer, more low key experience where I can get what I need and get out without all the hassle of looking for an employee.
Love shopping here. Aldi-like savings with a cleaner, more spacious shopping experience. Great place to do your weekly grocery trip. Pick up a freshly made treat at the bakery!
This Lidl is always so nice. It's right near everything and they always have tons of stock. Clean and the fruit doesnt have flies or anything gross. I love going to the bakery and getting some super fresh pastries! The best part is this Lidl is always a speedy checkout as long as you don't get stuck behind a super slow customer. I always go here when Lidl is having a good sale.
I just left your store and had a really bad experience. Your employees don't know how to respect customers, and when I asked for a manager, there was no one to be found. When I tried calling to speak with a manager later, I was told there isn't even a phone number for customers to reach the store. That's unacceptable. At self-checkout, your staff needs to understand that customers are not trying to steal anything. When someone needs help, they should communicate-not walk up, grab items from the machine, and say nothing while acting like they hate their job or the customer. And honestly, when you treat a brown customer like that, it really feels like racial profiling. Train your employees better. No one should have to go through that. This location is terrible, and people deserve to know what kind of service they're walking into.
