I was driving around at about 7:30pm hopelessly looking for dinner in this town where everything seems to close at 7(ridiculous). Just when I was about to give up, the neon sign for Nagi Baba caught my eye! I walked up to the cart and the guy running the shop was super nice (he’s the shop owners brother)! I ordered the $18 combo plate with chicken and lamb that he let me sample first and he absolutely loaded me up. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is like three days of food for me. The food came out insanely fast too. I standing there talking to the guy and it was ready in like three minutes. I’m literally writing this review while eating the cold leftovers the next day, and it’s still good. Great portions, great service, and it completely saved my night. (Sorry about the pic I was so excited I just dove right in lol)
Having lived in New York City, this did not meet my expectations. Great service, cute vibe though! But the authentic flavor just wasn’t there for me. The white sauce specifically was WAY TOO SWEET, like sugary mayonnaise. I was expecting tangy yogurt, which is more traditional. Also the amount of sauce was heavy. I did enjoy seeing the over all presentation but I personally would ask for the sauce on the side or no sauce at all.
Great Mediterranean food. I had the lamb over rice. Seating is cozy, great for date or family/friend dinner. The sauce really does add to the flavor and overall good value! Come support!!! $16 for lamb over rice and prices are more or less similar all around.
Got the lamb rice place. Was very tasty. For a fan of Halal Guys & Adele's in NYC, Naji Baba does a pretty good job. Their rice and falafel are . However, their lamb is on the drier side. It needs a lot of sauce. Ask for EXTRA white sauce. Too bad you have to buy it as a side. It's great their hot sauce is free. It's not too spicy. Very mild. Very nice owners!
My first time trying this place and food was 10/10 everything was delicious we had the combo rice platter and the chicken gyro also the owner gave us some falafel to try this food really took me back home
