I have to give a special shoutout to Stuart, who has picked me up a few times now while my car was being worked on. Every ride has come with an interesting conversation, a few laughs, and just an all-around sweet experience. Just don’t ask him how windshield wipers worked back in the day, because he may tell you a fib. Tony deserves a mention too — both of these gentlemen are such kind, friendly drivers and really make the whole repair shop experience feel a little more personal and pleasant. It’s the small things like this that make a big difference.
Always so friendly, helpful & dependable! Not to mention convenient - makes all the difference when you can get a ride home or to pick up your car when ready! Always willing to answer questions & compare prices too. They stand behind their work!
I've been using North Hills Auto to service my truck for over 15 years. Great working with honest people! Plus, they have Stuart from Scotland that will drive you home and pick you up! A Great person to work with the customers! Don M.
I have taken my car here once before and had a good experience. I felt the mechanical work done on my car was good and had no other issues with it once it was addressed. I love that they have a shuttle service. I also think the staff are friendly. The reason I will not be back is transparency. Below is my most recent experience: I brought my car for two issues. A hum in my a/c and a burning smell when driving. They told me that I mind as well go with their full vehicle inspection because it would address my concerns and give me 4 oil and filter changes. I agreed, it was 119.95. I was later told the inspection only included A/C functionality. That they could see that the a/c fan wasn't working but needed 200 more to delve further into the issue due to the layout of my car. Had I known that the full inspection package didn't include a full diagnostic of my a/c I would have just paid for the diagnosis of my 2 issues and 1 oil change seperately. In addition, when the person called to tell me it would cost more money he said my total price would be around 400. That's 280 dollars extra, Not 200. When I pushed back and asked for a price breakdown, it changed to 200. I dont think anything malicious was happening here. I just think the communication was severely lacking. When I went to pick up my car I asked for a the information on the other things included in the inspection. I was told they would email it to me. I never recieved that email. I just called to ask for this information again and was told if they didn't mention anything all the things on the list were probably fine. I took my car to somewhere else to get looked at due to the miscommunication on price. It was much more transparent, they proved pictures where relevant, and clearly presented the cost of each component of the service to me. They mentioned that my transmission pan was leaking and that my wiper blades were streaky. Both of which should have been seen in my full inspection by northhills automotive. Keep in mind that this is advertised as "find out...what needs to be done in 6 months and 1 year from now." My wiper blades and transmission pan may need to be serviced sometime in the future yet went unmentioned. There is no document or checklist that says they looked at everything listed in the full vehicle inspection and that it looks fine. If I wanted these for my records or simply to sell my vehicle I would have access to none of that information. I now recommend certified automotive. The pricing is clear. They provide pictures where necessary. And reports are provided on everything they looked at. You will actually know what needs to be replaced now and what you need to keep an eye on for later.
I went by because I had an issue with my brakes making noise. The team got me right in and out and you couldn’t beat the price! They know that I am busy and travel a lot for my job. They made sure they communicated with me every step of the way. The lobby was very comfortable and easy to set up to do some work in. I will return!
