A great place to be a solo diner, very comfortable setting, not too close to other diners. The flavours were delicious but for both dishes the seafood was a little overcooked. The octopus was chewy, salmon was definitely not medium rare as promised though not too dry unlike the accompanying prawn which was v dry. However, the sauces were to die for and the salad was fresh.
I was staying at the hotel so I gave the restaurant a try. I ordered the toasted sourdough entrée and the eye fillet main. Unfortunately my main came before my starter and I had to request it when the main was delivered. I ordered the steak medium rare and despite it looking good was very tough. I am not sure what was done to it to make it so tough, it took me three to four cuts each time to cut through it. Very disappointing experience.
Wonderful food, just outstanding quality. Came here out of convenience, but was blown away. The room is beautiful, the portions are actually quite generous, we could only have some entrees and a main, couldn't fit any room for dessert, so it ends being quite good value. For happy hour, all of the glasses of wine are $9 which is fantastic value. We had the chicken tacos and eye fillet steak which was perfectly cooked. Also had some sides to go alongside. Service was lovely, attentive. The space is quite nice but probably the lighting is quite bright so detracts a little from the otherwise somewhat intimate setting. Perhaps a more lounge type of seating for the bar would be better. The plant wall is spectacular and I saw another couple remark that it appeared fake.
Partner and I have been travelling Tassie for the past week and our meal tonight was by far the best. We ordered an entree of the pork/chicken dumplings which were seasoned very well and not dry with a lovely dumpling skin which was steamed perfectly, the sauce that accompanied was well balanced and perfect with the dumplings. Main course was a delight, the best pork chop ive ever had the privilege of tasting, was sous vide cooked then char glazed in a beautiful char sui sauce which was exceptional in its balance of sweetness. The end was an amazing sticky date pudding that my partner who steers away from sweet desserts fell in love with. Overall 10/10 food experience, well done chef.
We had a lovely dinner at Diverge. The food was tasty, perfectly seasoned and well presented. I had the salmon and my husband the lamb. The staff were great. I can highly recommend this place.
