⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely amazing best steak in Launceston! I recently dined at Steve Grilled and honestly, it was such a fantastic experience. I ordered my steak cooked well done which can be tricky to get right, as so many places end up making it dry or tough. But the chef here did an incredible job! It was perfectly cooked through, still juicy, full of flavour, and seasoned just right. You can really tell they know exactly what they’re doing in the kitchen. The whole meal was brilliant, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service was warm and attentive too. If you’re looking for great food and especially a top quality steak, this is the place to go. I highly recommend Steve Grilled you won’t be disappointed!
Another overnighter on Launceston and spotted this place during the day so decided dinner would be here later on. Love the feel and look of the place within. Nice layout and would be a top spot for meeting up with family or friends. We were led to a booth and I ordered a drink while we waited to give our order. There's quite a variety on offer so plenty of options for people to pick and choose. I went with the 200gm Scoth Fillet which came with seasoned fries & salad (with Forest Mushroom sauce). Had another pint while waiting for the food so with two pints the bill came to a scratch under $80. The steal was cooked perfectly, the fries tasty and crunchy and the salad more than ample. Only thing was the waiting periods from wanting to give our order to waiting for food to arrive. If it was crowded or overly busy I would have understood but on this night it wasn't so baffled as to why it took so long. But the staff were friendly and must have realised as they apologised for the wait time so a big tick for that. I would certainly go back again though.
I’m kicking myself for not taking photos of the food — sorry! We chose Steve’s Grill simply because it was 150m from our accommodation, and from the outside it looked a bit bland. I’m so pleased we went in. The menu is a great mix of comforting classics and a few creative dishes. We started with tempura, then had twelve scallops in a divine house-made sauce and brisket that fell apart beautifully. We finished with two classic puddings — far more than our moderate appetites needed 😂 — but both were excellent, proper “just like Granny used to make” cooking. Generous portions, personable staff, and clearly a favourite with locals. A great find and highly recommended.
I ordered the chicken skewer in the satay sauce on the side and it was absolutely delicious. I want to go back next week for same dish. The chicken thigh was tender. The satay sauce wasn’t so much peanut butter flavour and with a tiny bit of spice. So good. Presentation was beautiful. The other two dishes at our table were presented beautiful too.
Nice dinner with my family. Everything was well cooked and staff were really friendly.
