Where to begin?! My friend spoke so highly of this bakery we woke up early this morning to make the 30 minute drive from Simpsonville to bask in the deliciousness. Walking in thru that front door and seeing those pastries and smelling the freshly baked bread, made me realize it's going to be a great day. My wife and I ordered a chocolate croissant, ham and cheese croissant, butter croissant, a kougin amann, a hot bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and an everything Danish. We ate the BEC sandwich in the car and it was hot and delicious! I believe they used Munster cheese. Whatever loaf of bread they use for that, should be on every sandwich in that area. Once we got home we split up the ham and cheese and chocolate croissant for the kids. Of course they liked the chocolate better. Butter croissant with extra butter was delicious but the star of the show is the kougin amann! That salted caramel pastry is wonderful. I know now that ordering one of those is a crime. You must order two to give one to your spouse and have one all to yourself.

One of our favorite places to visit! I always get the fig and brie sandwich with either ham or turkey. It's bright, crunchy, fresh and spicy (spicy from the arugula and mustard). Their bake good rocks... always go for the cardamom bun... if you can get your hands on it. I have NOT had a bad bake from them at all. They prove not only their bread but the quality of customer service too. We love this place ❤️

hmm I expected way more from this place. With everyone raving about it being so great I guess I thought it would be better. I went in for some pastries and everything was laminated and a chocolate chip cookie. Nothing really stood out and everything looked like they left it in the over for a few minutes too long. Everything was baked hard and looked close to tasting bitter and over done. I know some bakeries claim that’s the French way but we’re not in France. We can not borderline burn things. Anyway I considered the almond croissant But it looked skimming like 4 sliced almonds on top and I just knew the inside wouldn’t have nearly enough filling for me. I finally settled for a baguette since I was already there and made the drive from Atlanta, I had to buy something. The baguette was decent and had a nice sour Dough flavor. No complaints about it Service was ok. Felt a little dry over all but nothing horrible or great.

I picked up 2 loaves of the Bacon, Parmesan bread as gifts at the Travelers Rest Farmers Market. It looked great but I didn’t get to try it. The folks who got the bread could not stop talking about how good it was. So…..the next Saturday, I went back specifically for the same bread and picked up two more loaves. This time, I enjoyed it for breakfast with garden ripe tomatoes and sunny side up eggs. Now I know what the fuss was all about! Simply a delicious, hearty bread, made with love and purpose. Thank you Rise Bakery. I’ll be back! Kevin McGraw

I like their bread but other than the sandwich loaves, they have huge holes in them. It makes them useless for sandwiches, in my opinion. The photo is from their sliced country loaf and it’s typical of every similar loaf I’ve bought. I don’t see this in the sourdough loaves from other bakeries so I looked it up. According to google it’s “usually caused by improper shaping, uneven fermentation, or an underdeveloped gluten network.” For the prices they charge, you’d think they wouldn’t have this issue. I’ll find another bakery.
