I've been coming here since I started driving. They are honest people and won't make you feel like you have to get repairs you don't need. I had one occasion when I was younger. Someone told me my radiator fan went out. I took it to them and they found out it was just a fuse. The other place wanted to charge me over 200 dollars. They diagnosed it and changed it out for like 10 dollars. I always recommend them to anyone having car problems. Best shop in Dallas by far.
Took my JGC to RG for an overheating engine issue that turned out to require a radiator replacement. First time customer and while I hope I don't have to come back anytime soon, I wouldn't hesitate given my experience - customer service and communication were great and I had the vehicle back the very next day. Certainly earned my trust!
Came here on a friend’s recommendation and had a great experience. Alan and Jacob helped figure out an issue with my car when I didn’t even realize it needed a specific brand of sensor. They took the time to get to the bottom of the problem and fixed it right away. Laurie was also awesome—great customer service and really good at problem-solving. I’ll definitely be back if I need anything else done!
The bottom line: they do good work cheaply, but don't expect them to communicate well. Overall I would recommend them because the quality and price of their work is more important than the other issues, but make sure you're willing to check in with them often. Full review: The owner (Jacob, I think?) is a great guy, and the lady in the office is a sweetheart. Price: I needed my rear differential replaced or rebuilt. This is fairly complicated work, and I got a bunch of quotes ranging from $2,000-$4,500. Ross & Greenville did it for $1,026. And Jacob was actually trying to find a rebuilt one to get it done even cheaper. For comparison, Consumer Affairs says the average price is $2,500-$6,000. So it was an outstanding price. Quality: I've been driving the car for three weeks and have not found any deficiency in their work. It seems to have all been done correctly. I have two complaints though. First, they never called me. They had my car for about 6 weeks and I never found out what was going on unless I called them to ask. I called them 10 times over the course of those 6 weeks. They didn't even call me to let me know that the work had been completed. I'm sure they were just busy, but would have appreciated a quick update via call or text every couple of weeks. Second, I got my car covered in bird poop. I assume they parked it under a tree or something, but bird poop is acidic and can eat away at car paint if it isn't cleaned reasonably promptly. So now I have to go get my car paint fixed because there are spots where I can see the primer. That leads me to believe that my car had been left sitting there for a while. That's frustrating, but my car is kinda old and beat up anyway, so it isn't the end of the world.
Best mechanics I’ve been to! Very honest people and super fair prices. These guys never let me down!
