Smart Volt is legitimately 5 stars. After purchasing our house in 2023, we have worked with a lot of different vendors for various projects. Robert Hamilton from Smart Volt is one of the best we've worked with. Many people think that solar is more expensive and they feel that they're not able to purchase upfront, but it's really the contrary. The loan for our solar system, even with interest, is less than our current electric bill, so it was a no-brainer to get this installed. With Smart Volt, I appreciate that I can ask as many questions as I want and I will get very quick answers with no judgment (and I ask a lot of questions)! I really resonated with Robert and his company because they are so detail oriented. I was also kept up to date on any solar tax incentive changes regularly. They do not try to "sell" you at this company like other solar vendors - they are very professional but also down-to-earth. A big plus is that all the materials on the solar system we chose are from the U.S. (no tariff or oversea delays). It made me feel a lot better that this was located in Florida and was a reputable small business (but not too small) that wasn't a big chain across the globe. You won't regret going with this company. I've referred them to a friend who had a good experience, and I've vetted about 5-6 other solar companies in the last few years. This is the one to go with.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I am beyond thrilled with my new solar system — it looks amazing and the entire process was handled with professionalism and care. A huge shout‑out to Bay Area Solar Solutions and to Jarad and his crew for their outstanding workmanship. They were efficient, detail‑oriented, and made sure everything was done right. I also want to give special recognition to Robert with Smart Volt Solutions, who made this project possible. His guidance, communication, and support throughout the process gave me confidence at every step. He coordinated seamlessly and ensured I had everything I needed — from setup to paperwork to understanding how the system works. Smart Volt Solar was excellent from start to finish, and a huge part of that was Robert. From the very first conversation, he was straightforward, honest, and incredibly easy to talk to. There was no pressure and no salesy pitch, just clear answers and realistic expectations, which immediately made me feel comfortable moving forward. Robert was consistently responsive and patient in answering questions, whether they were about the installation, system performance, or the tax credit process. He took the time to explain things in plain language and made sure nothing felt confusing or rushed. The installation itself went smoothly and professionally, but what really stood out was the communication throughout the entire process. Knowing exactly what to expect at each step made a big difference and removed a lot of the stress that can come with a project like this. If you’re considering solar and want to work with someone who is knowledgeable, transparent, and genuinely helpful, I can’t recommend Smart Volt Solar and Robert enough.

When you build a home in Eastern Connecticut, you're generally going to find yourself with two issues right away: 1. You wish you'd done it years ago, because Connecticut is amazing. 2. Holy Hannah, my electric bill is through the roof! We knew before building we wanted to get solar, and experiencing a year of the atrocity that is Eversource, Connecticut's sinister electrical archnemesis--I mean, utility provider--was more than enough to convince us we were right to want to break the chains of ever-increasing power bills. Fortunately, there's no shortage of options for getting solar installed on your house in Connecticut. Unfortunately, too. When we started our search for a provider, we assembled a spreadsheet of 33 installers. Thirty-three! A third of them were easy to toss--they're the ones who sell door-to-door or that you see advertised in multitudes of yard signs in any dense residential area. That's a weird rule of thumb that seems to work well: if you've heard of them a lot, you probably don't want them for your solar install. Why? Because they'll easily charge you 20% or more above other installers, and the experience will be so-so at best. After lots of calls and emails, we knocked the list down to 6 candidates and completed a full quoting process with them. One of those candidates was Smart Volt Solutions, a company out of Florida that advertises nationwide installation but with a greater presence in parts of New England. We worked with Chris at Smart Volt, and to say he went above and beyond would be both cliche and a gross understatement. We put him and our other candidates through the ringer, fine-tuning our quote over and over to make sure we got the system we wanted--one that produced enough to meet our current needs plus extra for a future EV and also a battery backup on top of that. Two candidate companies bailed on us midway through our gauntlet of quoting, a third dropped the ball on getting us updated pricing on the system we'd ultimately pick, and a fourth just priced itself way out of the competition. Chris at Smart Volt and Company B put together at least half a dozen quotes each as we worked with them to refine our plans. As of right now, Chris is the person I've texted the most in the past three months, even more than my wife. He responded fast every time, even on weekends! Ultimately, we ended up with two close bids on two great systems. At this point, I was sure either installer was up to the task, but Chris went the extra mile and came back with the best price. Winner, Smart Volt. Now, I'm sure you're reading this and thinking, "Great Sales does not equate to great Installation." I knew that too, and I was definitely fingers-crossed after signing a contract, fully expecting to get handed off to the mercy of Smart Volt's installer and never hear from Chris again. I'm so glad I was wrong. Chris was involved through the whole process, making sure every step was carried out in a timely manner--all the Eversource hoops were carefully jumped through, permits and inspections were timely, and the install itself took a day and change. At a few points, I went out of my way to channel all my communications on the project through Chris, and he never balked at that once. After building a whole house and dealing with way too many people, that was a welcome delight. I'm here now with a beautiful solar system, working 100% with a great warranty, from a local installer, and I'm happy to say Smart Volt made the whole process a lot less painful than I thought it could be. Now, don't listen to one random review and say, "I'll just quote Smart Volt and give them my business." I didn't, and you shouldn't. But save yourself some hassle, quote with them and maybe a couple of others, and I think you'll likely find Smart Volt to be your best option as well. But hopefully this review gives you some piece of mind when you ultimately choose them that you'll be in good hands through the whole process.
