The tasty chicken (fried chicken pieces in a delicious sauce, served with two scoops of rice and a choice of salad $20ish) is a huge plate of delicious food. The oxtail soup is wonderful - comes with a side of rice, add in noodles! The loco moco gravy is excellent and a great added side for the rice! And the crosscut fries are delicious- crunchy and perfectly seasoned, a great appetizer for the table! As for the desserts, you can’t do wrong. Chocolate insanity, lemon crunch, strawberry crunch (the “crunch” toffee-style topping really makes the dessert). The restaurant itself is comfortable and clean, it’s very casual (it’s in a bowling alley). The service is quick and friendly.

The Alley is a gem restaurant serving classic Hawaiian food. This is especially treasured in a time where many long-time Hawaii restaurants are lowering their food quality. Had the oxtail soup and garlic shrimp scampi. Oxtail soup tasted beefy and was loaded with tender oxtail, well spiced/seasoned without being overwhelmed with star anise. Garlic shrimp and mac salad were top notch. No need to visit North Shore to get your fix. The only suggestions I have is for more garlic sauce and an option to add shrimp. And the desserts... Just look at the line for cake takeout and you KNOW it's da bomb. Loved the lemon cake and strawberry. Finally, our server Tera (young lady with a Japanese last name name. I hope I got her name correct, sorry if I didn't), was so cheerful and attentive. 5/5*

Place is crowded for a reason, had time to spare so finally got to dine in. Tables are right by the bowling lanes but at lunchtime wasnt too noisy. Ordered the Furikake Ahi plate, did not disappoint. Fish was moist and not dry, and was exactly what i wanted (tasty chicken was a close second choice 😂). Service was great, lucky we rolled in when we did at opening since there was people waiting when we left. 5 stars🤙

If you are looking for a spot that hits all the right notes for a satisfying meal, look no further. We stopped by recently and were blown away by the flavors—everything we tried was so ono, it felt like a home-cooked meal made with a lot of heart. ​The menu has plenty of great options, but there are two absolute "must-haves" that you cannot skip. First, the Tasty Chicken is incredible. It’s perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside; it definitely lives up to its name! To wrap things up, you have to save room for the Strawberry Crunch Pie. It is the perfect balance of sweet, tart, and crunchy—the kind of dessert you’ll find yourself craving the next day. ​As for the logistics, the customer service was great. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The price is okay—it’s fair for the quality and portion sizes you get, making it a solid choice for a nice lunch or dinner out. ​Overall, this is a fantastic local gem. Between the delicious chicken and that legendary pie, I’ll definitely be back soon!

Damn the food was satisfying. Huge serving for the combo tasty chicken and boneless short ribs, SO good. Saimin for the wife, also great.
