This place books up fast for reservations. We were lucky to get a last min cancellation booking. I had high expectations as I heard good reviews and I saw a few instagram posts about this place. I usually get let down when I have high expectations. We’ve eaten around the world and we’re from Vancouver, Canada, where it has one of the most well rounded and best food as a home base. This met the expectation and more. Usually my go to at a Vietnamese restaurant is just pho and a lemon grass plate but we had to try something different here because the menu was different. We’re really glad we did. We got a little sample set of some appetizers at first like chilled oyster, vegetable roll and tatami toast. Then our entrees came out and we tried the mushroom estufao tagliatelle and shutome filet. I was kind suspect about an egg on pasta but it was amazing. When we go back to Waikiki, we would definitely come back again. Would be one of the first places we make a reservation in advance. Thanks for a great time

Despite hearing of this restaurant all the way in Texas the reviews had me a bit concerned. It turns out that concern was for no reason at all because this restaurant is great! We stopped in with an 11:15 reservation only to find out I made it for the wrong day. The hostesses were so kind and found us a seat at the bar which turned out to be awesome. The bartender was super personable and friendly and made our meal even more enjoyable. We started with the Green Papaya Tea Salad which was amazing. Great sour notes from the papaya and sweet notes from the dates. It was refreshing and a great way to start our meal. After that we moved on to the Bun Hue Sai Gon which had super tasty noodles and meatballs in a remarkable broth. Everything about it was delicious and fresh. We paired it all with a Vietnamese Iced Coffee which was stellar. Service was quick and the restaurant was very comfortable. Don’t hesitate, get in here! Highly Reccommended!

Highly rated restaurant, came to check out the hype. The one dish we tried was the pho French dip, and it was great. Rich broth. Hand cut noodles were nice, but didn’t make or break the dish. The brisket was tender and savory. I would definitely try this dish. Very crowded and loud inside and outside. Ensure you make a reservation. Don’t expect to walk in because the restaurant is very busy. Bar seating, indoor, and outdoor seating. Servers have a lot of ownership over their dishes which is great! Parking is only validated for a discounted rate in the garage, it is still paid. The prices of the dishes are high, compared to typical Vietnamese restaurants. However, I think the quality of the food is worth it (although I cannot speak to the authenticity).

I see why this place is so popular. Service to drinks to the food is wonderful. Very happy that they also paid attention that it was a special birthday occasion. Old fashionee cocktail with their makers mark single barrel came out delicious with the clear ice. Appetizers were had to choose as we wanted to try everything. We settled on the warm mochi pudding, highly recommend it. We even slurped the broth with it. And tuna tataki, yum. The venison tartare was cool to try as there is a wildlife issue lf too much venison running around. Glad to help with the ecosystem. The grilled cheese with onion jam I really enjoyed. I could eat that with a big bowl of mochi pudding soup. The hokkaido scallop crudo was fresh and it had all the notes, sweet scallop, acid from the orange, crunch and spice from the wasabi peas. The dry aged kanpachi had a perfectly crispy skin and delicious flavor and texture. Dessert was amazing, lilikoi crunch was a hit. The Che San, cassava mochi with coconut cream may be adventurous for some, but worth it if you don't mind trying new things.

We will be thinking about this food for years to come! I didn’t think coming in that I would like most of this food because I didn’t know exactly what it was but oh my goodness, some of the best food I have had all year! My husband ordered two of the same lamb appetizer (once as an appetizer and again after his entree) because it was that good. The drinks are amazing, we ordered the run it back and part of your day twice because it was that good again. The ahi mini starter toast was delicious and I don’t really like fish like that. I personally also really loved the pho! We took all of our recommendations from our waitress Pat and she was spot on with everything we ordered. She was great too! If we are ever back in Oahu, this will be our first stop! My husband doesn’t even like Vietnamese food and it was his favorite food on the trip! WOW so good. Make a reservation or go when they open!
